Titans Sign Texas Tight End to Rookie Deal
The Tennessee Titans have continued to sign their 2025 draft class, adding another player to their roster as rookie minicamp progresses. The team announced that they have signed fourth-round tight end Gunnar Helm, making him the sixth draft pick to officially join the team.
“This is a class of leadership,” Helm said to reporters on Saturday. “That’s why the Titans hand-selected us.”
In addition to Helm, the Titans have also inked deals with Stanford wide receiver Elic Ayomanor, Penn State defensive back Kevin Winston Jr., Sacramento State offensive guard Jackson Slater, Cal cornerback Marcus Harris, and Michigan running back Kalel Mullings.
Helm had an impressive final season at Texas after a quiet start to his college career. In his first three years, he recorded just 19 receptions and two touchdowns. However, he broke out in 2024, posting career highs with 60 catches, 786 receiving yards, and seven touchdowns.
At Texas’ Pro Day in March, Helm reflected on his journey, calling himself a “walking example” for others to follow.

“I also think I’m a walking example of sometimes you don’t reach your peak right out of high school,” Helm said. “Sometimes it takes a little bit of development, and that’s what happened for me. A lot of people don’t realize that I played in every game at the University of Texas, blocking top-tier talent from a young age.”
Helm was especially productive in key games during his time with the Longhorns. In a September matchup against Michigan, he caught seven passes for 98 yards and a touchdown. Later, in the first round of the College Football Playoff against Clemson, Helm added six catches for 77 yards and a touchdown. He also caught the go-ahead touchdown in overtime a week later against Arizona State.
