Maryland Terrapins Get Major Boost with 4-Star Talent News

2026 4-Star Edge Rusher Alhassan Iddrissu Schedules Official Visit to Maryland Football

Could Maryland land another top-tier edge rusher?

Alhassan Iddrissu, a 2026 four-star edge rusher, has confirmed an official visit to Maryland’s College Park campus on May 29. The 6-foot-6, 240-pound athlete will visit alongside Jaivion Martin, a tight end committed to Arkansas.

Ranked as the 396th overall player in the 2026 class and the 38th-best edge rusher by the Composite rankings, Iddrissu is a highly sought-after prospect.

The St. Thomas More (Oakdale, CT) standout has also lined up official visits to Washington State and Temple, as shared on his X account. In addition to Maryland, Iddrissu holds offers from top programs like Texas A&M, Florida State, Michigan, USC, and Washington, among others.

A scouting report from 247Sports highlights Iddrissu’s potential as an exciting, albeit raw, prospect. He has only played one year of high school football, originally coming from a basketball background. Standing at 6-6 with a wingspan approaching 85 inches, he’s one of the longest prospects in his region. Though he still has room to grow in terms of technique and consistency, Iddrissu plays with strong effort, a relentless motor, and a solid work ethic off the field.

He’s primarily used as a standup edge rusher who crashes inside and pursues the ball, but he needs to refine his skills, particularly in reading plays and reacting more quickly. To excel against stronger competition, he’ll need to continue improving his strength, especially in his lower body to better hold up in the run game. His senior year will be crucial for his development, as it will give him a chance to improve his ability to dominate with his raw athleticism.

Though he’s still developing, Iddrissu’s physical traits have attracted high-level Power 4 programs, and he’s expected to need some patience from whichever school he chooses as he continues his growth.
