Bengals Make Big Move, Sign League’s Hottest Safety

Cincinnati Bengals Sign Rookie Safety Shaquan Loyal, Waive Cornerback Micah Abraham

The Bengals made a roster move on Monday, signing rookie safety Shaquan Loyal and waiving cornerback Micah Abraham.

Loyal, an undrafted free agent from Rutgers, ran a 4.58-second 40-yard dash and was ranked as the 80th-best safety by Dane Brugler during the pre-draft process. The 5-foot-11, 202-pound defensive back played in 43 career games for Rutgers, recording 176 tackles (nine for loss), two sacks, and four interceptions.

He now joins a safety group that includes Geno Stone, Jordan Battle, Tycen Anderson, and Daijahn Anthony.

Abraham, who joined the Bengals in October, spent the final 12 games of the 2024 season on the team’s practice squad.
