Colorado is enhancing its offensive line depth.

On Monday, former Maryland left tackle Andre Roye Jr. declared his commitment to join the Buffaloes and head coach Deion Sanders.

Roye, standing 6-foot-6 and weighing 294 pounds according to Maryland, started seven games at left tackle for the Terrapins last season. He played in a total of eight games but dealt with two separate injuries that caused him to miss some time.

He joins CU with two years of eligibility left and is the seventh offensive line transfer for the Buffs this offseason, including the third since the conclusion of spring practices last month.

Despite being among the lowest-rated offensive linemen in the country by Pro Football Focus, Roye allowed only one sack and had just four penalties over 434 snaps. The lone sack he surrendered was to Penn State star Abdul Carter, the No. 3 overall pick in the recent NFL Draft, during the last week of the season after he had missed the previous three games and played briefly in that contest.

Throughout his three years at Maryland, Roye participated in 17 games, featuring in three games in 2022 and six in 2023 as a backup.

Originally a three-star recruit from St. Frances (Md.) Academy in 2022, Roye initially committed to Penn State before switching to Maryland. He also received offers from several schools, including USC, Arizona State, Baylor, Michigan, and Tennessee.
