Several schools have reached out to the Arkansas playmaker.

Is it another day and another transfer target for the UNC basketball team? That seems to be the case with guard Boogie Fland. On Tuesday, it was announced that Fland has opted out of the NBA Draft process, choosing to return for another season of college basketball.

Initially, when he entered the draft, Fland maintained his college eligibility. Since he is projected to be a mid second-round pick, this decision is quite reasonable. However, as a standout playmaker, he’s attracting attention from several teams. According to Inside Carolina, the Tar Heels have already reached out to him. Could a visit be on the horizon?

North Carolina has contacted 5-star Arkansas transfer Boogie Fland

Shoutout to Inside Carolina for staying on top of this, as it usually does. Fland just wrapped up a strong season under John Calipari at Arkansas, where the 6-2, 175-pound guard from the Bronx averaged 13.5 points and 5.1 assists per game during the 2024-25 season.

According to the 247Sports rankings, he’s currently the top combo guard in the transfer portal for this cycle and the No. 8 player overall. There’s growing speculation that Florida could become a major contender in his recruitment, which is worth watching.

For Hubert Davis and the Tar Heels, finding wing support remains a priority. The disappointment over Andrej Stojakovic choosing Illinois over UNC is still felt by fans, as he had the Tar Heels on his shortlist.

European wing Ivan Kharchenkov, a 6-6 standout from Bayern Munich, is a name that’s frequently mentioned. From our perspective, he would be an exciting addition at this stage. The same goes for Fland, who would make a significant impact on both ends of the court for his next team. Will UNC ramp up its recruiting efforts? We should find out soon!
