Wisconsin Badgers Aiming High, Targeting Top QBs in 2027 Recruiting Class
The Wisconsin Badgers may not have a strong tradition as a quarterback school, but under the leadership of Luke Fickell and his staff, they’re making a clear push to land some of the top quarterbacks in the 2027 recruiting class.
On Monday, four-star quarterback Malachi Zeigler from Benton, Louisiana, became the latest to receive an offer from Wisconsin. Zeigler, currently ranked as the No. 9 QB and a Top 100 player in his class by 247Sports, has already drawn attention from over 18 other schools, including top programs like Michigan, Miami, Tennessee, and Florida State.

Zeigler marks the 11th quarterback the Badgers have offered for the 2027 class, with seven of those being four-star recruits. Six of the offered QBs are currently ranked among the Top 10 in the class.
Quarterbacks coach Kenny Guiton isn’t hesitant to pursue elite talent, showing he’s not afraid to compete for the top prospects.

In addition, Guiton already secured a commitment from four-star QB Ryan Hopkins for the 2026 class. Hopkins, who had offers from Michigan State, Washington, Missouri, Oklahoma State, and California, chose Wisconsin over those programs.
