Brad Marchand and Shayne Gostisbehere Throw Down in Panthers’ Dominant Win Over Hurricanes
There’s nothing quite like playoff hockey.
The intensity was palpable on Tuesday night in Raleigh as the Carolina Hurricanes and Florida Panthers clashed in Game 1 of the 2025 Eastern Conference Finals.
Just moments after Canes winger Andrei Svechnikov appeared to avoid a penalty for a knee to the head of Panthers goalie Sergei Bobrovsky, his teammate Shayne Gostisbehere found himself in a heated altercation with Florida’s notorious agitator, Brad Marchand.

As expected, Marchand initiated the confrontation, targeting Gostisbehere, who retaliated by launching the puck at him. From there, the gloves came off, with the longtime Bruin throwing heavy punches at the Carolina defenseman.
