Maryland Terrapins Coach Presented with Major Recruiting Opportunity

Maryland Football Competing for 2026 IMG Academy Prospect

Maryland football is in the running for 2026 IMG Academy standout Cam Brickle, but they’ll face stiff competition.

After landing a top-25 recruiting class last year, the Terrapins already have five commitments for the 2026 cycle, with the spotlight on five-star edge rusher Zion Elee, the No. 4 overall recruit. Maryland is now looking to add key role players to complement Elee, and Brickle, a three-star defensive lineman, could be one of those players. Brickle recently announced his final four schools: Maryland, Penn State, Ohio State, and Florida State.

Ranked as the 530th-best prospect overall and the 63rd-best defensive lineman in the 2026 class by the Composite, Brickle stands 6-foot-2 and weighs 305 pounds. With further development in a college strength program, he could become a dominant force in the trenches.

Here’s how 247Sports describes Brickle’s game:

Despite limited action as a sophomore due to a transfer and injury, Brickle was dominant when he played. As an interior lineman, he showed off his natural ability, using his powerful hands to move opponents and knock them backward. He possesses quick feet and excels at playing behind the line of scrimmage. Strong at the point of attack, Brickle also has the agility to move laterally and disengage from blockers. He’s a true nose guard who can handle double teams while still making plays. With a high ceiling, Brickle is seen as a top-tier Power 4 prospect with the potential to play at any program at the next level.
