Following a thrilling Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals, Magic Johnson took to social media to share his thoughts on the exciting matchup between the Indiana Pacers and New York Knicks.

The Pacers secured a dramatic 138-135 overtime win at Madison Square Garden, giving them a 1-0 series lead. Johnson, a Basketball Hall of Famer and Lakers legend, made a bold statement, calling it the best game of the playoffs so far.

“What a comeback victory for the Indiana Pacers vs. the NY Knicks!! This was the best game of the entire Playoffs and really the game of the year in the NBA!” Johnson posted on X.

Game 2 is set to take place on Friday night in New York City.

Johnson followed up with two more posts. In his second post, he highlighted Tyrese Haliburton’s clutch performance: “Tyrese Haliburton tied the game at the end of regulation and finished with 31 points to lead the Pacers to a 138-135 victory and 1-0 lead against the Knicks.”

In his third post, Johnson praised the star performances across the board: “Game 1 was must-see-TV because all the stars showed up and showed out! Haliburton had 31 and 11 rebounds, Brunson finished with 43 points, and Karl-Anthony Towns had 35 points and 12 rebounds!”

Haliburton finished with 31 points, 11 assists, four rebounds, and one steal, shooting 12-of-23 from the field and 4-of-12 from beyond the arc in 42 minutes. His performance has been a standout in the 2025 playoffs.

The NBA noted that Haliburton has had an incredible run, with his fourth go-ahead, game-winning, or game-tying field goal in the final 30 seconds of a game or overtime in this postseason alone. This feat ties him with Ray Allen (2009) for the most such shots since the 1998 playoffs.
