Purdue has extended an offer to 6-foot-11 center Darius Wabbington. He is ranked as a top-20 overall prospect in the 2027 recruiting class.
One of the leading centers in the 2027 recruiting class has received an offer from Purdue. Darius Wabbington, a 6-foot-11 player from Phoenix, announced that he has been offered by the Boilermakers.
Wabbington is highly regarded by 247Sports, ranking as the No. 17 overall prospect in the 2027 class. He is considered a five-star talent and the No. 3 center in his group. In addition to Purdue, he has received offers from Arizona State, Cal, LSU, Maryland, Villanova, Washington, and UCLA.
Purdue has now extended offers to five players in the 2025 recruiting class. In addition to Wabbington, the Boilermakers have also offered center Isaiah Hill, along with guards Kevin Savage, Jason Gardner Jr., and Jaxson Davis.

During his sophomore year at Sunnyslope High School, Wabbington averaged 13.4 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.3 blocks per game. Over the past three years, he has participated in several USA Basketball Men’s Junior National Team camps.
Wabbington showcases traditional big man skills, effectively backing down defenders in the paint and finishing with a gentle touch around the rim. He is also a lob threat and can extend defenses by hitting long-range shots.
On the defensive end, Wabbington has shot-blocking potential and can offer rim protection. He has a similar physique to current Purdue forward Raleigh Burgess, who is also 6-foot-11 and skilled at playing both inside and beyond the arc.
At the moment, there are no commitments to Purdue in the 2027 class, but coach Matt Painter and his staff are actively working on recruiting this summer.
