Maryland Basketball Secures Another Commitment for 2025 Recruiting Class
Buzz Williams is nearing completion of his 2025 roster, and on Tuesday, he added another key piece. Four-star forward Aleks Alston, one of the top uncommitted prospects in the 2025 recruiting cycle, pledged to join the Maryland Terrapins.
Alston, a 6-foot-9 forward from Chicago, is ranked 104th overall in the composite rankings for the class of 2025. He is also the 22nd-ranked power forward and the top player from Illinois. Alston had received offers from several major programs, including Maryland, Ohio State, Oregon, Indiana, Iowa, and Michigan State.

With Alston’s commitment, Maryland now has 13 scholarships out for the 2025-26 season. Unless circumstances change, Williams is likely finished recruiting for this class and signing transfers. His focus can now shift to developing the new roster and preparing for future recruiting cycles in 2026 and 2027.
