Baylor Secures Commitment from Four-Star Wing Elijah Williams
Baylor’s basketball program is already making moves for the 2026 class, securing a commitment from Elijah Williams, a top small forward prospect.
Williams, the son of former NBA player and NBA Coach of the Year Monty Williams, stands at 6-foot-6 and currently plays for TMI Episcopal in San Antonio, Texas. He is ranked No. 44 in the 2026 class. It’s clear that Williams has developed a strong connection with Baylor’s head coach, Scott Drew.
“Coach Drew is an awesome coach and awesome guy,” Williams shared with 247Sports earlier this month. “He has been really connected with me, which is really important. He has taken time just to get to know me, and he believes in me as a player, and that’s all I can really ask for.”
Known for his physical gifts, Williams is an all-around player with a versatile skill set. He has a strong post-up game, the ability to hit three-pointers, and is steadily improving as a ball handler.
This spring, Williams has been impressive for JL3 in Nike’s EYBL, averaging 19.8 points and 5.4 rebounds per game.
As Baylor’s first commitment for the 2026 class, Williams feels his game is evolving as he prepares for his senior season.
“The biggest thing was being more comfortable with the ball and being the primary ball-handler,” Williams said. “I was getting my own shots and becoming a better three-level scorer.”
He added, “I think I’m just an all-around player. I feel like I can do everything.”
