Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Shares Why He Enjoys Embracing the Villain Role on the Road
The Oklahoma City Thunder secured a crucial road win over the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Target Center on Monday night, taking a 3–1 lead in the Western Conference Finals.

Following the game, Gilgeous-Alexander was asked about the experience of playing the “villain” role on the road, and he shared why he finds it enjoyable.
"It's super fun. … The whole building's against you. … It's your job to go out there, play basketball and kinda shut them up. … I enjoy it for sure."

“It’s super fun. It’s right up there with playing at home. The whole crowd’s against you, chanting whatever they’re chanting, yelling whatever they’re yelling. Your job is to go out there, play basketball, and silence them. It definitely adds something extra to the game, and I enjoy it,” Gilgeous-Alexander explained.
After a quiet Game 3 in Oklahoma City’s first road game of the series, he bounced back in spectacular fashion, putting his team one win away from the NBA Finals.
Game 5 of the series will take place at the Paycom Center, with tipoff scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday, May 28.
