Falcons Re-Sign Center Ryan Neuzil, Eyeing Starting Role

The Atlanta Falcons have re-signed center Ryan Neuzil, securing an essential part of their offensive line. After losing starting center Drew Dalman to the Chicago Bears in free agency, the Falcons faced a gap in their line’s middle. Following months of speculation, they officially addressed the need on Wednesday evening by bringing back a familiar face.

Neuzil agreed to a two-year, $9.5 million contract, with $6.25 million guaranteed, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. As a restricted free agent, Neuzil was initially tagged with a right-of-first refusal offer worth $3.26 million, but he held out for a more substantial contract that reflected his potential as a starter. Despite not being officially signed, Neuzil participated in the Falcons’ voluntary workouts and was with the first-team offensive line during OTAs this week.

Over his three seasons with the Falcons, Neuzil has appeared in 43 games, making 12 starts. He stepped up as a starter in 2024 when Dalman was sidelined with an ankle injury, impressing with his performance. Neuzil allowed just one sack and 10 total pressures in 346 pass-blocking snaps, according to Pro Football Focus.

While Neuzil’s performance was solid, his penalty issues stood out—he was flagged seven times, tying for the most in the NFL when Dalman returned. However, the Falcons were pleased with Neuzil’s overall execution during his starting role.

“Neuzil did an outstanding job stepping in,” said offensive coordinator Zac Robinson on Dec. 1. “In many ways, we didn’t miss a beat, and he had a great showing in tough road games.”

Falcons offensive line coach Dwayne Ledford also praised Neuzil in early May, highlighting his physical strength and athleticism.

“Neuzil has a lot of power and is one of the best athletes on the team. His quickness and explosiveness at the center position make for a great combination,” Ledford said.

After going undrafted in 2021, Neuzil has been a reliable rotational player for the Falcons. Now, with Dalman’s departure, 2025 could be his opportunity to step into a starting role.
