The Buckeyes host Texas, Grambling and Ohio in the first three weeks of the 2025 season.
Ohio State can now confirm when fans will return to Ohio Stadium this fall—at least for some games.
The Buckeyes have shared kickoff times and broadcasting details for four of their 12 games ahead of the 2025 season.
Ohio State vs. Texas: FOX, Noon EST
Unfortunately, one of the season’s biggest matchups, especially in week one, won’t be the prime-time spectacle we had hoped for. This rematch of last year’s Cotton Bowl Classic, featuring former Buckeye defensive end Jack Sawyer’s pivotal strip sack and scoop-and-score, will kick off at 12 PM EST on FOX. This game is expected to be a highlight for the network’s pregame show ‘Big Noon Kickoff,’ with Gus Johnson and Joel Klatt calling the action.
Many Ohio State fans anticipated this when FOX selected the game earlier in the spring, but the reality is settling in. As the Buckeyes head to Austin, Texas, next fall, it’s likely that ESPN, the primary broadcaster for the SEC, will set that game for primetime.
Ohio State vs. Grambling: BTN, 3:30 PM EST
Following their opener against Texas, Ohio State will host Grambling.
Pros of this time slot? It gives you enough time to mow the lawn in the morning and catch the end of any noon game that catches your interest. The downside? You might find yourself dozing off on the couch. Ohio State has never faced Grambling, and with all due respect to the Tigers, it shouldn’t be a challenging game. On the bright side, fans in attendance will get to enjoy two great marching bands during halftime.
Ohio State vs. Ohio: Peacock, 7 PM EST
The Buckeyes’ last non-conference game of the 2025 season features their annual matchup against Ohio University, the reigning MAC Champions, as they travel to Columbus for the first primetime game of the year. Ohio State has a perfect 6-0 record against the Bobcats, with the last victory in the 2010 season (ignoring that it’s vacated). However, fans aren’t thrilled that this game will be on Peacock, and many hope this is the only game featuring that platform.
Ohio State at Michigan: FOX, Noon EST
The traditional rivalry game keeps its annual slot, as it should. Ohio State’s loss to Michigan last season helped launch the Wolverines into their national championship run. Michigan has certainly had the upper hand lately, winning the last four consecutive matchups.
