Rams Strengthen Offensive Line with Former Vikings and Titans Tackle
The Los Angeles Rams are looking to build on their strong 2024-25 season, where they were eliminated by the Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles, in the playoffs’ second round. With a revamped roster, including one of the NFL’s top coaches and a veteran quarterback eager to capture his second Super Bowl title, the Rams are poised for another competitive year.
On Thursday, the Rams made a move to solidify their offensive line by signing veteran tackle David Quessenberry to a one-year contract. While the signing might not make waves, it could prove valuable as the season progresses.
Quessenberry, originally from San Diego, played college football at San Jose State before being drafted by the Houston Texans in 2013. He has since played for the Tennessee Titans, Buffalo Bills, and most recently, the Minnesota Vikings over the past two seasons.
Quessenberry’s career is particularly inspiring, as he won the George Halas Award in 2017 after overcoming a cancer battle. Following his recovery, he returned to the Texans before moving to the Titans.
With 30 starts in 84 career games, Quessenberry brings versatility as a backup tackle and special teams contributor. The Rams are hoping he can step in if needed behind starting left tackle Alaric Jackson.
The Rams’ offense will look different this year, particularly with the departure of Cooper Kupp, who was released and signed by the Seattle Seahawks. In Kupp’s place, the Rams added veteran wide receiver Davante Adams, who will now serve as the No. 2 receiver alongside Puka Nacua. This new receiving duo, paired with quarterback Matthew Stafford in Sean McVay’s offense, gives the Rams a potent attack. If the offense stays healthy, the Rams will remain strong contenders for the Super Bowl.
