Mingo stands at 6 feet 5 inches and weighs 180 pounds, playing as a point guard. According to 247Sports Composite, he is rated as a five-star player and is ranked 9th overall in the Class of 2026. As an exceptional scoring guard, he is also recognized as the top prospect from New York.
So far in the early stages of the Nike EYBL Circuit, Mingo has been performing outstandingly, averaging 18.6 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 2.5 steals, demonstrating his versatility and impact on the game.
North Carolina isn’t the only school interested in Mingo; he has received offers from several programs including Alabama, Cincinnati, Dayton, Florida State, Illinois, Missouri, Old Dominion, Ole Miss, Providence, St. John’s, Texas, Texas A&M, and Virginia Tech. Recently, he also received an offer from Pat Kelsey and the Louisville Cardinals.
It’s likely that more offers will come his way soon.
In recent interviews, Mingo has stated that his primary goal this summer is to showcase his full range of abilities on the Nike EYBL Circuit, aiming to prove he is much more than just a top scorer.
“Honestly, I want to show that I can do more than just score. I can be a real point guard and lead the team. I’m focused on giving 100% effort and improving my jump shot,” he said.
Furthermore, Mingo expressed that he isn’t in a hurry to narrow down his list of potential schools and plans to evaluate his options more closely in the fall.
With UNC actively pursuing him, expect Hubert Davis and the Tar Heels coaching staff to prioritize bringing this elite talent to Chapel Hill. Given his size and skills, Mingo could be an excellent match for the style of play that Davis envisions for the team.
