Golden Bears Sign 7-Foot Basketball Transfer from Georgia State

Cal Adds 7-Foot Georgia State Transfer DK Dut
California has added a promising, albeit raw, player to its roster with the signing of 7-foot center Dhiaukuei “DK” Manyiel Dut from Georgia State.

Dut had initially planned to transfer to VMI but decided to switch gears and sign with Cal instead. While still a work in progress, Dut has three years of eligibility remaining, and head coach Mark Madsen is optimistic about developing him into a strong presence in the paint.

Originally from South Sudan, Dut attended Greenforest Christian High School in Decatur, Georgia. He redshirted as a freshman at Georgia State and played in nine games last season, averaging 1.1 points and 1.2 rebounds. His most notable performance came against Division II Toccoa Falls, where he scored seven points and grabbed five rebounds in 17 minutes.

As a high school recruit, Dut was a three-star prospect and had offers from schools like Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, Temple, New Mexico State, and Yale before committing to Georgia State.

“DK has a unique blend of size, athleticism, and skill that will improve our frontcourt,” said Madsen in a statement. “He excels at rim protection and is a capable shooter from the outside. We’re excited about his potential and his work ethic – we’re thrilled to have him as part of the Blue and Gold.”
