Blockbuster Trade Proposal Sends All-Pro WR to Titans
The Tennessee Titans might be looking to make a major move for a wide receiver ahead of next season. With Terry McLaurin’s contract situation becoming a concern with the Washington Commanders, could the Titans be a potential landing spot for the two-time Pro Bowler?
According to Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox, Tennessee could be one of the top teams in the mix to acquire McLaurin, especially if his contract issues persist. Knox suggested that the Titans could offer an appealing trade package for McLaurin, which might include wide receiver Treylon Burks, along with a Day 2 and Day 3 draft pick.

Knox also shared some insight into why this trade would make sense for both teams. He pointed out that the Titans recently struggled with quarterback Will Levis during a two-year stretch, in part due to an underperforming supporting cast. Tennessee’s wide receiver corps remains a weak spot, making McLaurin a valuable addition to help the offense. With $30.7 million in cap space, the Titans could afford to make this move. While the team may not immediately be in playoff contention, acquiring McLaurin could give them a strong weapon to pair with rookie QB Cam Ward, especially as they could be in position to draft high again in 2025.
As for the Commanders, they might benefit from taking a low-risk gamble on Burks, a former first-round pick who’s struggled to find his footing in the NFL. A change of scenery and a potentially better quarterback situation in Washington could give Burks the opportunity he needs to thrive.
For the Titans, adding McLaurin would address a major need in their receiving group. With McLaurin’s proven production—82 catches, 1,096 yards, and 13 touchdowns in 2024—he could be the perfect complement to Calvin Ridley, forming a strong duo in Tennessee’s offense. While parting with a second-round pick might be tough, it could be a worthwhile investment for the Titans to support their developing quarterback in Ward.
Though there’s no guarantee McLaurin will be traded before the 2025 season, if he is, the Titans could be a top contender for his services.
