Houston Texans Set to Sign RB Nick Chubb
The Houston Texans are poised to sign four-time Pro Bowl running back Nick Chubb. The 29-year-old former Cleveland Browns star is scheduled to visit the Texans on Monday, and if he passes his physical, he is expected to officially join the team.
Chubb appeared in eight games for the Browns during the 2024 season but saw his year end prematurely after suffering a broken foot in Week 15 against the Kansas City Chiefs. Despite the injury, he rushed for 332 yards and three touchdowns on 102 attempts. He also caught five passes for 31 yards and a touchdown.
Although Chubb has dealt with significant injuries over the past couple of seasons, diminishing his production, he remains a capable and impactful back in the NFL.
Chubb is expected to serve as the second running back behind star Joe Mixon. Mixon had a heavy workload in 2024, rushing 245 times, so Chubb’s addition will help take some of the pressure off Mixon, forming a strong 1-2 punch in the Texans’ backfield.
