Gonzaga Secures Late Commitment for 2025 Class
Alonzo Metz, a 5-foot-11 guard from Miami, has committed to Gonzaga, adding to the Bulldogs’ 2025 recruiting class.
On Thursday, Metz announced the news via Instagram, expressing his excitement about joining the Zags: “Super excited to announce that next year I will be attending Gonzaga University. Thank you to my coaches, mentors, and family who’ve supported me on this journey. #GoZags.”
Metz joins fellow recruits, four-star Davis Fogle and three-star Parker Jefferson, in Gonzaga’s 2025 class. Metz previously attended Jesuit High School — the same school as Ben Gregg — before transferring to Riviera Prep in Florida. During his senior year in the 2024-25 season, he averaged 4.2 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.0 assist per game.
Additionally, Gonzaga made headlines by adding transfers Adam Miller (9.8 ppg at Arizona State last season) and Tyon Grant-Foster (14.8 ppg, 5.9 rpg at Grand Canyon) to their roster. As of Thursday, the Bulldogs still had four open scholarships, potentially leaving room for further moves before finalizing the roster.
There has also been speculation around Mario Saint-Supery, a 19-year-old international prospect from Spain, who is reportedly “destined” to commit to Gonzaga, though an official announcement has not yet been made.
