Auburn Tigers Continue to Impress Four-Star Tight End Recruit
The Auburn Tigers are making a strong impression on four-star tight end recruit J.C. Anderson, who continues to visit the campus and grow increasingly fond of the program.
Anderson, a 6-foot-6, 230-pound tight end from Mt. Zion, Illinois, visited Auburn again this past weekend, alongside several other recruits. He has visited the Tigers’ campus multiple times, and each visit has convinced him that Auburn could be the right fit for him.
During his official visit, Anderson brought along his family to get a firsthand look at what Auburn has to offer.
“It’s really important for me to have them understand what I’m seeing and the decision-making process,” Anderson said. “I can tell them how great Auburn is, but they needed to see it for themselves. I needed them here.”
Auburn is in urgent need of an upgrade at the tight end position, especially with Preston Howard and Brandon Frazier set to depart in the next two years. The Tigers are hoping to develop young talent to fill the void.
Anderson has built a close relationship with tight ends coach Ben Aigamaua, who he appreciates for his focus on developing not just players, but people.
“He’s all about the core values, the family atmosphere at Auburn, and how he’s not just going to help me grow as a player, but as a man and a future husband and father,” Anderson said. “That really resonates with me. He’s a great guy, and we have a strong connection.”
Anderson, who holds 36 offers according to 247Sports, has scheduled official visits with Illinois, Ole Miss, Auburn, and North Carolina. After his visit to Auburn, he has just one left, with North Carolina on June 16. Anderson has announced that he will commit on July 1.
The Tigers are in a strong position, especially given that Anderson revealed his commitment date shortly after his visit. However, no crystal ball projections have been made regarding where he will land.
