Kansas Football Secures Commitment from 3-Star Recruit Kevin Sullivan
Kansas football strengthened its 2026 recruiting class with the addition of 3-star tight end Kevin Sullivan on Thursday. This commitment marks another significant win for head coach Lance Leipold and the Jayhawks’ recruiting efforts.
Sullivan, a tight end from Rockhurst High School (MO), officially pledged to Kansas, selecting the Jayhawks over more than 15 Power 5 offers.
The 6-foot-6, 220-pound prospect visited Lawrence for a game last fall, then returned for a campus visit in late May. After also touring Iowa State, Sullivan ultimately chose Kansas as the best fit for him.
Ranked as the No. 1,049 overall player, No. 53 tight end, and No. 10 player in Missouri in the 2026 class by 247 Sports Composite, Sullivan is a significant addition. He becomes the second tight end in KU’s 2026 class, joining local prospect Jack Utz.
Known for his size and potential as a blocker, Sullivan is also a strong red-zone threat. Kansas is still in the running for top in-state recruit Ian Premer, which would further elevate the tight end position if he commits. The Jayhawks continue to focus on recruiting local talent to keep top Midwestern players close to home.
With 17 recruits now secured in the 2026 class, Leipold is building what could be an all-time great recruiting class for Kansas football.
