Oregon Ducks, Dana Altman In the Lead for 4-Star Recruit Kohl Rosario Over Florida State?
Kohl Rosario, a four-star shooting guard and the No. 6-ranked player in the 2026 class, has caught the attention of top college basketball programs this summer. He recently took official visits to both the Oregon Ducks and the Florida State Seminoles.
Ranked No. 27 nationally by On3, Rosario has been turning heads on the Nike EYBL circuit with Team CP3 and at the NBPA Top 100 Camp. His performances have made him one of the most sought-after recruits in the country.
The 6-5 combo guard visited Oregon’s campus in Eugene and had positive things to say about the experience. When speaking to On3’s Jamie Shaw, he mentioned, “They have a great program, and their play style is appealing. Also, being in the Big Ten is a factor. They made the visit really fun; we went fishing, threw the football around. The energy was great.”
Oregon coach Dana Altman’s 2026 recruiting class is currently ranked No. 5 in the country and No. 2 in the Big Ten, according to On3. At present, the only commit is three-star forward Kendre Harrison, who also plans to play tight end for Oregon football coach Dan Lanning.
Rosario continued to express admiration for Oregon, stating, “Obviously, they are a winning program. Every program they have at that school, no matter the sport, is successful. It’s all about the culture on campus. If you go to Oregon, you’re playing for a legacy of winning, and I think that’s pretty cool.”
In 2024-25, Rosario helped lead the YNG Dreamerz to an Overtime Elite championship in Atlanta, averaging 13.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.6 steals, and 1.1 assists per game during their postseason run.
During his time at Movarian Prep in Hudson, North Carolina (2022-24), the 18-year-old averaged 21.1 points per game with impressive shooting splits of 49% from the field, 37% from three-point range, and 78% from the free-throw line. He also contributed 5.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.3 steals per game over 46 appearances.
Looking ahead, Rosario has scheduled official visits to Kansas (June 17), Texas A&M (June 22), and Duke (June 26).
“I’m focused on these five schools right now. It’s mentally a lot to handle, and especially with the possibility of reclassifying, I know I have a big decision coming up. I’m just trying to gather as much information as possible before making my choice,” he said.
