Texas Tech will compete in the Baha Mar Championship in November, joining Purdue, Memphis, and Wake Forest.
Though it had been expected for a while, Texas Tech officially confirmed on Wednesday that it will participate in the Baha Mar Championship this November. The Red Raiders will join Memphis, Purdue, and Wake Forest in the tournament, which will be held November 20-21 at the Baha Mar Convention, Arts & Entertainment Center in Nassau.
Texas Tech is scheduled to face Wake Forest in the opening round at 7:30 p.m. CST on Thursday, Nov. 20. They’ll then play either Memphis or Purdue in their second game. CBS will broadcast the two-day event.
The Red Raiders are heading back to the Bahamas for the second time in three seasons, having previously taken part in the 2023 Battle 4 Atlantis. They’ll face Wake Forest for just the third time in program history, still in search of their first win against the Demon Deacons. Their last meeting came in 2011 at the Old Spice Classic in Orlando, where Texas Tech fell 70-61. The first matchup occurred in 2005, with Wake Forest edging out a 78-73 double-overtime victory in the Coaches vs. Cancer Third Place game in New York.
Texas Tech and Purdue have squared off three times, with the Red Raiders earning their most recent win in the 2017 Sweet 16, a 78-65 victory in Boston. The Red Raiders trail the series 1-2. Against Memphis, Texas Tech holds a 1-6 all-time record, with their lone win coming in a 78-67 triumph during the 2019 Hoophall Invitational in Miami.
Looking ahead to the 2025-26 season, Texas Tech enters as an early national championship contender. Following last year’s Elite Eight run, the Red Raiders return key contributors, including standout guard Christian Anderson and reigning Big 12 Player of the Year JT Toppin. The team also made significant moves in the transfer portal, highlighted by the addition of LeJuan Watts from Washington State. In total, Tech brought in five four-star transfers, reloading a roster with the potential for another deep postseason push.
