Just one season after claiming the SEC regular-season title outright and reaching their second Final Four in six years, Auburn basketball is preparing for another challenging road ahead. On Wednesday, the SEC revealed its 2025-26 conference matchups, setting the stage for a demanding schedule.
Last season marked one of the most competitive years in SEC basketball history—two of the final four teams in the NCAA Tournament came from the conference, with Florida making it the farthest. That level of competition isn’t expected to let up, as six of the SEC’s 16 programs were featured in ESPN’s early college basketball rankings.
A key change in Auburn’s SEC schedule for the 2025-26 season is a new home-and-home series with Arkansas, which takes the place of Georgia in that slot.
The Tigers will host conference matchups against Kentucky, LSU, South Carolina, Texas, Texas A\&M, and Vanderbilt. On the road, they’ll face Florida, Georgia, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, and Tennessee. Auburn will also have both home-and-away contests with Alabama, Arkansas, and Ole Miss.
Specific dates and tip-off times will be released closer to the start of the season.
Following a landmark 2024 season, Auburn underwent a complete roster overhaul. The only returning player is standout sophomore point guard Tahaad Pettiford.
To reload, the Tigers brought in four transfers: forward Keyshawn Hall from UCF, big man KeShawn Murphy from Mississippi State, guard Kevin Overton from Texas Tech, and versatile guard/forward Elijah Freeman from Lincoln Memorial. They also added JUCO guard Abdul Bashir Jr. and center Omeka Oporum, along with international prospect Filip Jovic.
Additionally, Auburn secured the No. 20 recruiting class in 2025 (per 247Sports), highlighted by guards Kaden Magwood and Simon Walker, and forward Sebastian Williams-Adams.
