Notre Dame Lands Massive commitment from Elite CB: ‘It is a special place’

Notre Dame Secures Commitment from Top CB Khary Adams: “It’s a Special Place”

Khary Adams, initially scheduled for an official visit to Oregon this weekend, has made an early decision after a transformative visit to Notre Dame last weekend. The No. 67 ranked prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking from Towson, Maryland, has committed to Notre Dame, choosing the Irish over programs like Michigan, Penn State, and others.

Adams told On3, “From the beginning, Notre Dame has always been at the top. It was always Notre Dame vs. Penn State, then Notre Dame vs. Oregon. I knew Notre Dame was up there for me.”

What truly sealed the deal for Adams was his experience on his official visit to South Bend. “When I got there, I saw what Notre Dame could offer me beyond football, especially the education. Learning about the degree program, spending time with Coach Mickens, and being around the people made me realize it. It’s a special place.”

Adams has developed a strong relationship with Notre Dame’s defensive backs coach, Mike Mickens, who offered him a scholarship last summer. “I trust him a lot. He’s laid-back with a great personality, but he knows how to push his players on the field. He’s one of the best in the country at developing talent, and I want to play for someone like that.”

Adams also expressed admiration for head coach Marcus Freeman. “Coach Freeman is a great person. He cares deeply about the players, and everyone loves playing for him. He’s doing amazing things at Notre Dame.”

For Adams, the Notre Dame experience goes beyond just football. “I’ve been to Notre Dame four times, and it’s hard to describe what it’s like. There’s nothing like it – it’s just different. It’s special.”

The atmosphere at Notre Dame was a huge factor in his decision. “The people, the campus, the players, the vibe – it all makes Notre Dame a great place. By the second day of my visit, I knew I wanted to be there. Everyone is focused, everyone wants to be there, and it’s a great place to play.”
