Big Announcement for the Louisville Cardinals

Louisville Adds Baylor to 2025-26 Basketball Schedule

Louisville’s already tough non-conference schedule for the 2025-26 season just got even more challenging. The Cardinals are finalizing an agreement with Baylor to play a neutral-site game at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, according to CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein.

The game is set for Saturday, February 14, with a return matchup scheduled for the 2026-27 season, per Rothstein.

As of now, 10 of Louisville’s 13 non-conference opponents for the 2025-26 season have been confirmed. The Cardinals will host Kentucky on November 11, face Arkansas on December 3 in the ACC/SEC Challenge, take on Indiana on December 6 at Gainbridge Arena in Indianapolis, host Memphis on December 13, and travel to Tennessee on December 16.

They will also play Cincinnati, Eastern Michigan, and NJIT in an MTE at Heritage Bank Arena in Cincinnati, along with hosting Ohio. The dates for these matchups are yet to be determined.

Coming off a successful first year under head coach Kelsey, Louisville finished 27-8, surpassing their win total from the previous three seasons combined. This success earned Kelsey ACC Coach of the Year honors and saw the Cardinals return to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2019, although they were eliminated in the first round by Creighton.

Following the season, Kelsey and his staff quickly began shaping next year’s roster, bringing in three top-25 transfers—Ryan Conwell, Isaac McKneely, and Adrian Wooley. The Cardinals also added top-25 Class of 2025 recruits Mikel Brown Jr. and Sananda Fru. Additionally, J’Vonne Hadley and Kasean Pryor will return, utilizing extra years of eligibility.
