4-Star Offensive Lineman Desmond Green Commits to Florida Gators
Desmond Green, a four-star interior offensive lineman from Saint Stephen (S.C.) Timberland, has committed to the Florida Gators, becoming the fifth offensive lineman in the Gators’ 2026 class. Green announced his decision on Thursday, choosing Florida over offers from Georgia, Oklahoma, and South Carolina.
Standing 6-4 and weighing 330 pounds, Green is ranked as the No. 7 overall interior lineman in the class, according to Rivals. His commitment had been widely anticipated, with predictions from On3’s Steve Wiltfong, Blake Alderman, and Corey Bender pointing toward the Gators.
Green is the 14th overall commit in Florida’s 2026 class and the 12th to join in June. He joins four other offensive line recruits: four-star guard G’Nivre Carr, three-star tackles Chancellor Campbell and Javarii Luckas, and four-star tackle Tyler Chukuyem, all of whom committed earlier in the summer.
Florida may not be done building its offensive line, as four-star tackle Claude Mpouma is set to announce his decision on Sunday. After visiting Florida on June 15, Mpouma named the Gators as his leader, citing his comfort and feeling at home with the program.
Before Green’s commitment, Florida’s 2026 recruiting class was ranked 17th nationally by 247 Sports, and the Gators are expected to continue climbing as they are in strong contention for several high-profile recruits in the weeks ahead.
