It’s quickly becoming a Friday to remember for Josh Heupel and the Tennessee Volunteers. Earlier in the day, four-star EDGE Kedric Golston II gave his commitment to the SEC power, choosing the Vols over nearly 30 other programs.
But the good news didn’t stop there for Heupel and his staff. Highly regarded offensive lineman Edward Baker has also announced that he’s ending his recruitment. The talented prospect is headed to Knoxville, becoming Tennessee’s second commitment of the day for the 2026 class.

Edward Baker has been high on Tennessee for some time, but his interest took a major leap following his official visit this spring. On June 6, he traveled to Knoxville, and that trip clearly played a significant role in shaping his commitment decision.
While Tennessee made a strong impression, Baker also took official visits to Ole Miss, Arkansas, NC State, and Virginia. Still, the appeal of playing under Josh Heupel and joining the Vols proved too compelling to pass up.
The chance to suit up at Neyland Stadium—regardless of what EA Sports says about its ranking among the toughest places to play—likely factored into Baker’s decision as well. He’ll arrive in Knoxville already boasting impressive size at 6-foot-4 and 335 pounds.
Per 247Sports, Baker is a three-star recruit, rated as the No. 50 interior offensive lineman nationally and the No. 18 overall prospect out of Maryland. The Baltimore native had 20 scholarship offers, but in the end, chose to roll with the Vols. He becomes Tennessee’s second commitment in what could be a strong closing stretch for the 2026 class—excellent news for the program.
