Jeff Teague Calls Out Hornets: LaMelo “Got Drafted to Some S*”**

Jeff Teague isn’t optimistic about the future of the Charlotte Hornets.

It’s been a long time since the Hornets were competitive in the Eastern Conference, and based on their current trajectory, they don’t seem close to emerging from the bottom of the standings anytime soon.

Injuries have been a major factor in the team’s struggles, especially with LaMelo Ball, the franchise cornerstone, who has only managed to play more than 50 games in a season twice since entering the league in 2020.

Former NBA guard Jeff Teague didn’t hold back when reacting to the Hornets selecting Kon Knueppel, saying it only highlighted LaMelo’s unfortunate situation on a struggling team.

“It’s not fair to LaMelo. He’s the best player in a bad organization. He just got drafted to some s***. They’re just sad. They can’t put the right pieces around him. Even when Kemba [Walker] was there, they could never build around him,” Teague said.

Jeff Teague’s thoughts on LaMelo Ball’s situation in Charlotte:

“He got drafted to some shit…They just can’t put the pieces around him that can help him…”

While it’s true the Hornets haven’t been in a position to land big-name free agents or make major trades, much of this is due to the uncertainty around LaMelo’s health. The team has been focused on figuring out whether LaMelo can stay healthy long-term or if they need to look elsewhere for their future star.

To be fair, the Hornets haven’t exactly surrounded Ball with an elite supporting cast, but the front office has been playing the long game, especially since Jeff Peterson took over from Mitch Kupchak. The team now has the right leadership in place, with a solid head coach, GM, and ownership. The challenge ahead is building a supporting cast around LaMelo to kickstart their rebuild, but that takes time.
