Sion Felila details where the UCLA Bruins stand in his recruitment at this time and so much more with UCLA Bruins On SI.

The UCLA Bruins have been actively pursuing several top prospects lately, and one name that stands out in the 2027 class is Sione Felila—a highly regarded talent out of California.

Felila stars at Oak Hills High School in Hesperia, California, and has drawn the attention of numerous major programs. He holds offers from schools such as Arizona, UCLA, Oregon, Notre Dame, and many others.

In a recent interview with UCLA Bruins on SI, Felila opened up about his UCLA offer, recruiting updates, visit plans, and more insights Bruins fans will want to know as his recruitment unfolds.

“Getting an offer from UCLA means a lot to me because they’ve been recruiting me for a long time,” Felila shared, expressing appreciation for the consistent interest from the Bruins.

He also spoke about the coaching staff and which relationships he’s eager to build further.

“I’m excited to connect more with Coach Franklin since he’s newer to the staff. Coach Malloe was the first to reach out to me, so we’ve already built a solid relationship,” he said.

As for potential visits to Westwood, Felila confirmed, “I do not have any visits planned yet.”

When asked which programs have started to separate themselves, Felila listed several.

“UCLA, Oregon, Notre Dame, TCU, Cal, and Utah—not in any specific order. These schools have really stood out because of the love and genuine interest they’ve shown me, which I deeply appreciate.”

Felila also mentioned a personal connection to the Bruins.

“When I think about UCLA, the first thing that comes to mind is my former teammate Karson who’s there now—and also the consistent love they’ve shown me throughout the process.”

So where does UCLA currently rank in his recruitment?

“They’re definitely up there. What puts them higher is how early they started recruiting me and the way they’ve gone about it.”
