Nebraska WR Jaidyn Doss Declares for NCAA Transfer Portal
Nebraska wide receiver Jaidyn Doss has entered the NCAA transfer portal, as reported by On3’s Pete Nakos. Doss spent two years with the Huskers.
Over his two seasons, Doss appeared in just five games—four as a freshman and one as a defensive back last season. He recorded two catches for 20 yards in his career.
A member of the Class of 2023, Doss was a three-star recruit out of Raymore (Mo.) Peculiar, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking. He was the No. 14 overall prospect in Missouri, the No. 89 wide receiver nationally, and the No. 587 overall recruit in the class.
With Doss now seeking a new program, Nebraska will look to strengthen its offense, beginning with quarterback Dylan Raiola.
Ahead of the season, analyst David Pollack assessed Raiola’s performance, emphasizing the need to minimize negative plays. If Raiola can improve in this area, Nebraska could become a major contender.
Pollack explained, “Watching him last year, the biggest issue was negative plays. Getting rid of those is key. I remember the OT game against Illinois, just a lot of backward plays. But with year two and Dana Holgorsen’s guidance, I think he’ll be in a better position.”
Holgorsen, a veteran coach from the Air Raid offensive system, is set to take over as offensive coordinator in November 2024 and will continue in that role. His Air Raid background is expected to simplify things for a young quarterback like Raiola, aiding him in processing information and making quicker decisions.
