Just In: Los Angeles Rams Dealt Heavy Announcement
Puka Nacua Opens Up About His Relationship with Davante Adams
The Los Angeles Rams boast two standout playmakers eager to help each other grow and improve. Recently, Puka Nacua shared his experiences working with Davante Adams and being part of the Rams’ 2025 roster during an appearance on The Insiders.
“It’s definitely going to be different,” Nacua said on NFL Network. “Since Davante walked into the facility, he’s been amazing. The chance to learn from another all-time great feels like I’m getting away with something—I feel like a kid in a candy store. With Matthew Stafford, Sean McVay, Cooper Kupp, and now Davante Adams, I can’t complain. Life’s pretty good. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”
These sentiments mirror what Nacua shared during OTAs, where he discussed the valuable lessons Adams has taught him. As Nacua enters his third year, he’s stepping into a role where, for the first time, he’s one of the veterans on the team, trailing only Tutu Atwell in tenure.
“Route running,” Nacua highlighted as a key lesson from Adams. “His ability to change pace while moving, winning against negative leverage, his suddenness at the line of scrimmage—it’s incredible to see. And to be right next to him on the field, it makes sure I bring my A-game every time I line up with No. 17.”
Having been exposed to the McVay system for years, like Adams, Nacua is also stepping up as a leader within the team. When asked if his role has shifted, he mentioned that his on-field role hasn’t changed, but there’s been an adjustment in the meeting room.
“No, I don’t think so,” Nacua said during OTAs. “When talking with the coach, it’s about being myself. I love the physicality of football, and being around these guys makes it so fun, especially with the new faces. It’s funny because they’re asking me questions, and I’m like, ‘Wait, Coach Yarbs, do you really want me to answer this?’ I feel like I still have some of the same questions, but it’s also been a great learning opportunity for me. It’s helped me reinforce and confirm some of the things we’ve talked about in the past, and I’m understanding them even better now.”
Both Nacua and Adams continue their shared journey with the Rams, aiming for their first championship together.
