Milwaukee Brewers’ Pitching Staff Leads Historic Streak in MLB
The Milwaukee Brewers have been the hottest team in Major League Baseball as the second half of the season kicks off, with much of the credit going to their exceptional pitching staff.
Carrying their momentum from the pre-All-Star break, the Brewers continued their strong performance on Friday, shutting down the Los Angeles Dodgers with another dominant pitching display.
Quinn Priester led the way with a stellar 6.0-inning performance, striking out 10 batters while allowing just three hits and no runs. This dominant outing was nothing unusual for Milwaukee, as they’ve recently seen similar performances from Freddy Peralta, Jacob Misiorowski, Brandon Woodruff, and Jose Quintana.
Despite scoring only two runs, the Brewers secured a 2-0 win, marking their eighth consecutive victory.
According to OptaSTATS, the Brewers became the first team in MLB history to achieve an eight-game winning streak while recording at least 85 strikeouts, allowing fewer than 45 hits, and giving up under 15 runs.
With the Boston Red Sox’s loss to the Chicago Cubs, Milwaukee now holds the longest active winning streak in MLB, with the Seattle Mariners following closely with four consecutive wins.
Peralta will look to extend the streak when he takes the mound against the Dodgers on Saturday. The game is set to start at 9:10 p.m. ET.
