Steelers Sign Former Ravens Safety Chuck Clark
The Pittsburgh Steelers have bolstered their secondary by signing former Baltimore Ravens and New York Jets safety Chuck Clark, the team announced. 
Clark, who was drafted by the Ravens in the sixth round of the 2017 NFL Draft, spent six seasons in Baltimore. Over his career with the Ravens, he played in 96 games, earning a starting role in his third season and starting 63 games in total.
In 2023, Clark suffered a torn ACL, which sidelined him for the entire season. The following year, he signed with the New York Jets, where he started all 12 games he played. During his time with the Jets, Clark recorded 69 tackles, a sack, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and two pass deflections.
Throughout his career in Baltimore, Clark accumulated 384 tackles, eight tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, five forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, 32 pass deflections, and five interceptions.
Now 30 years old, Clark joins the Steelers during training camp, adding depth to a safety unit that includes former Ravens player DeShon Elliott and former Cleveland Browns safety Juan Thornhill. With both Elliott and Thornhill bringing AFC North experience, the Steelers’ safety room is stacked with familiar faces from the division.
Clark is expected to compete for the starting free safety spot alongside Thornhill, but he will also provide valuable depth behind both Thornhill and Elliott. After trading Minkah Fitzpatrick, the Steelers had an immediate need at safety, and instead of pursuing big names like Justin Simmons, they’ve opted to bring in a former Raven.
In a corresponding move, the Steelers released defensive tackle Dominique Davis.
