Four-Star Tight End Evan Jacobson Commits to Texas A&M

Texas A&M has secured another significant commitment for its 2025 recruiting class, landing one of the top tight ends in the country, Evan Jacobson. The 6-foot-6, 225-pound four-star tight end from the Midwest chose the Aggies over offers from Iowa State and Stanford.

Jacobson is more than just a football player; he’s also an exceptional basketball player and a strong academic student, making his recruitment process unique. This wasn’t just about finding a football home—it was about the complete package, and Texas A&M checked all the boxes.

From the start, the Aggies made Jacobson a top priority. They were among the first major programs to actively recruit him and stayed consistent throughout the process. Whether it was through in-person visits, Zoom calls, or building strong relationships with the coaching staff, A&M’s persistence paid off.

Academics played a key role in Jacobson’s decision, as he was clear about wanting a school that would support his future beyond football. Stanford was a serious contender due to its academic reputation, and Iowa State also made a strong case with their development plan and use of tight ends.

However, Texas A&M ultimately offered the best of both worlds—elite SEC football and outstanding off-the-field resources. Jacobson was especially drawn to the vision Mike Elko’s coaching staff had for his role in the offense. A&M views him as a versatile weapon who can line up wide, create mismatches, and become an integral part of the passing game, not just a traditional tight end.

His basketball background was also an important factor in the recruitment process, and A&M fully embraced his two-sport athleticism, showing how his skills could give him an advantage at the next level.

This is a significant win for Texas A&M. Jacobson brings the size, athleticism, and character to be a difference-maker in College Station. With his commitment, the Aggies gain one of the top-rated recruits in the 2026 class, adding another dynamic piece to their offense.

This recruitment was never guaranteed, but A&M’s steady effort paid off. Jacobson’s commitment strengthens an already top-five recruiting class and adds a key piece to the Aggies’ ongoing building process.
