Blackhawks Should Target Bruins Forward Pavel Zacha in Trade
While the Chicago Blackhawks have had a relatively quiet offseason, they still have over $21 million in cap space and should consider using it to strengthen their roster before the season starts. One potential move that could benefit them both short-term and long-term is trading for Boston Bruins forward Pavel Zacha. 
Zacha has been a trade candidate since the 2025 NHL trade deadline, and those rumors have continued into the offseason. The Blackhawks, in need of a proven top-six forward, should give serious thought to acquiring him. His versatility, being able to play both center and wing, would be a valuable asset to Chicago.
What makes Zacha an even more attractive target is that he wouldn’t just be a short-term addition; with a $4.75 million cap hit through the 2026-27 season, he could play a significant role in the Blackhawks’ future.
In the 2024-25 season, Zacha tallied 14 goals and 47 points in 82 games with the Bruins. He also posted 57 points in 2023-24 and 59 points in 2022-23. His consistent production would provide a significant offensive boost for Chicago, especially if he were paired with Connor Bedard, as Zacha’s strong playmaking ability would complement Bedard’s game well.
