Colts Add Former Ravens Defender Josh Tupou to Their Roster
The Indianapolis Colts have made a move to bolster their defense by signing free-agent defensive tackle Josh Tupou.
Tupou, a 31-year-old out of Colorado, spent his most recent season with the Baltimore Ravens. Prior to that, he played for the Cincinnati Bengals for seven years, starting his NFL career as an undrafted free agent in 2017.
Last season with the Ravens, Tupou played a limited role as a depth nose tackle, appearing in just three games. Over his time with Cincinnati, he appeared in 68 games, starting 23, and accumulated 86 total tackles and two sacks.
Now, Tupou joins the Colts as training camp gets underway, where he’ll compete for a spot on the 53-man roster ahead of the regular season.
In a corresponding move, the Colts placed offensive tackle Jack Wilson on injured reserve to make room for Tupou. Wilson, a 6’11”, 310-pound former college basketball player, was signed to a reserves/futures contract this offseason and spent time on the Colts’ practice squad during Weeks 6-8 last season. However, with his injury, he’ll remain on IR for the foreseeable future.
This move is just one of many roster changes the Colts will make as they prepare for the upcoming season. With the NFL roster cutdown deadline set for August 26th, teams—including Indianapolis—have less than a month to finalize their rosters before the 2025 campaign kicks off.
