David Pollack Names Bradyn Joiner as Purdue’s Key Player for 2025

David Pollack recently shared his picks for players to watch in the Big Ten for the 2025 season, and when it came to Purdue, he singled out offensive lineman Bradyn Joiner as a standout to keep an eye on.

Pollack, discussing the Boilermakers’ offensive line, highlighted Joiner as a key addition to the revamped unit. The former Auburn transfer, he believes, could be a major contributor to Purdue’s improved performance up front.

“I’m going with Bradyn Joiner,” Pollack said. “He’s an offensive lineman, a guy you might not know. He was an SEC All-Freshman left guard for Auburn last year, and now he’s transferred to Purdue. Purdue’s offensive line was a mess. They gave up tons of sacks and pressures.”

Pollack added, “The big question for Purdue is whether the offensive line can improve. They’ve brought in Joiner, who looks like he has a bright future. He’s not the tallest guy, but he did pretty well playing half a season for Auburn. Purdue’s line has to get better; it really can’t get much worse.”

Joiner enters his redshirt sophomore season after transferring from Auburn, where he spent two years. Though he didn’t play in 2023, he appeared in 10 games last season, starting five. His performance earned him SEC All-Freshman honors as a left guard.

A product of Auburn, Alabama, Joiner was a three-star recruit coming out of high school, ranked No. 508 overall in the 2023 class, according to Rivals.

New head coach Barry Odom is hoping Joiner can help improve a Purdue offensive line that struggled in both pass protection and the running game last season. The Boilermakers ranked among the worst in the Big Ten, allowing 32 sacks and averaging just 115.3 rushing yards per game.

Purdue’s early season schedule provides opportunities to settle in, with games against Ball State and Southern Illinois, both of which they should win. However, the challenge ramps up quickly, with USC and Notre Dame closing out September before facing eight tough Big Ten opponents. For Purdue to show any signs of progress, better play from the offensive line is essential, and Joiner could be a key factor in that improvement.
