Report: Blues to ramp up Pursuit of Forward
Blues Have a Promising Trade Target to Consider
The St. Louis Blues have had a busy off-season, especially after returning to the playoffs this year. With the 2025-26 season approaching, it’s worth wondering if they could make one final addition to strengthen their roster.
One area where the Blues could use some help is adding another skilled winger to their middle six, especially following the trade of Zack Bolduc to the Montreal Canadiens earlier this off-season. A player who could fit that need is Yegor Chinakhov of the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Chinakhov recently requested a trade from the Blue Jackets, making him a likely candidate to be moved this off-season. At just 24 years old, the young winger has shown promise in his early career, making him an intriguing option for the Blues to bolster their third line and power play.
Chinakhov’s best season came in 2023-24 when he posted career highs of 16 goals, 13 assists, and 29 points in 53 games. He followed that up with seven goals, eight assists, and 15 points in 30 games last season.
Given the Blues’ need for more depth scoring, Chinakhov could be a solid addition to their forward group. Whether they pursue a trade for him remains to be seen, but on paper, the fit looks like it could work well.
