Suns Set to Welcome NBA Champion Shooter to the Valley
Phoenix Suns Considered Top Destination for Khris Middleton
After spending 12 seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks, Khris Middleton was traded to the Washington Wizards during the middle of last season. However, the rebuilding Wizards aren’t the ideal fit for the 33-year-old guard, leading to ongoing speculation about his future with the team.
According to Evan Sidery of Forbes, multiple contending teams are keeping an eye on Middleton’s situation with the Wizards. With a $33.3 million expiring contract and a history of injuries, teams are hesitant to offer significant trade compensation. As a result, Middleton could become a prime candidate for a buyout.
Bovada lists the Phoenix Suns as the favorites to land Middleton, should he become available. Other teams in the mix include the Detroit Pistons, Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, and several others, according to NBACentral.
While Middleton is no longer the All-Star player he once was, he remains a solid contributor. In 2024, the 2021 NBA Champion posted averages of 11.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game, shooting 47.5% from the field and 36.1% from beyond the arc in 37 games.
