Tennessee Football Recruiting: Vols on Track for Another Top-10 Class

After a standout 2024 season that included a College Football Playoff appearance and a top-three finish in the SEC, Tennessee is poised to secure another strong recruiting class.

Following an 11th-place finish in last year’s Team Recruiting Rankings, the Vols are currently sitting at No. 12 as the new football season approaches.

Tennessee has already received 23 commitments, highlighted by five-star quarterback Faizon Brandon from Grimsley (N.C.), who is the star of this class. Brandon committed to the Vols in August 2024, choosing them over numerous offers. He expressed that Tennessee’s early and consistent recruitment left a lasting impression on him.

“I started feeling Tennessee a while ago,” Brandon told Rivals. “They recruited me early, and their first impression was like no other. The staff made a strong push from the beginning and kept it steady, which really influenced my decision.”

The 6-foot-3.5, 195-pound quarterback threw for over 2,100 yards and 27 touchdowns last season, completing an impressive 76% of his passes. Offensively, he’s supported by a strong group, including four-star wide receiver Tyreek King, versatile athletes Legend Bey and Salesi Moa, blue-chip tight end Carson Sneed, and four-star offensive tackle Gabe Osenda.

On defense, Tennessee has secured 15 early commitments, with seven players projected to play on offense. Of the 23 total pledges, nine are in-state recruits, including four-star athlete Joel Wyatt. Additionally, 12 of the commitments are four- or five-star recruits, making this a highly-ranked class.
