Cowboys Trade Rumors: Team Linked to Potential RB Upgrade
Could the Dallas Cowboys be looking to add another running back to their roster?
While the Cowboys’ rushing attack wasn’t awful in Week 1, it certainly had room for improvement. Javonte Williams made a strong debut with two touchdowns, and Miles Sanders had a highlight 49-yard run. However, Williams averaged only 3.6 yards per carry, and Sanders had a costly fumble right after his big play. Additionally, Sanders faced criticism for not turning his long run into a touchdown, raising concerns about his speed.
These issues have led Cody Warren of Inside the Star to suggest that the Cowboys should consider acquiring Seattle Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker III, who is reportedly available for trade.
“Reports from Seattle indicate that Kenneth Walker III might be on the trade block, and his skill set could be an ideal fit alongside Javonte Williams,” Warren noted.
Walker is in the final year of his rookie contract, and with a new coaching staff in Seattle, an extension seems unlikely. He also appears to have fallen behind Zach Charbonnet on the depth chart, increasing the likelihood of a trade.
Warren speculates that the Cowboys could secure Walker for a fourth-round pick in 2026, which would be a worthwhile investment for a back with 2,548 rushing yards and 24 touchdowns over 42 career games.
