Titans Add Veteran Center to Active Roster, Release OT

Ahead of their home game against the Los Angeles Rams, the Tennessee Titans made a pair of roster moves to strengthen their lineup.

Timing their moves just before gameday, the Titans announced on Saturday afternoon that they had signed veteran center Corey Levin to the 53-man roster. Levin, originally drafted by Tennessee in the sixth round of the 2017 NFL Draft, has had an up-and-down tenure with the team, making occasional contributions since his arrival. In between his stints with the Titans, Levin has spent time with the Denver Broncos, Chicago Bears, New England Patriots, and New York Jets, establishing himself as a versatile and reliable presence on offensive lines across the league.

After rejoining the Titans in 2021, Levin now finds himself officially back on the active roster following a tough loss to the Denver Broncos, where the team allowed six sacks. With rookie quarterback Cam Ward under center, the Titans are clearly prioritizing improving their offensive line protection for the upcoming game.

Levin’s promotion was paired with the release of tackle Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson, making room for this move. Additionally, two more roster elevations were made: running back Jordan Mims and tackle John Ojukwu were both moved to the active roster, adding depth to the offense as the Titans prepare for their home opener.

The promotion of Mims is especially notable given that rookie running back Kalel Mullings is expected to miss Sunday’s game due to an ankle injury he sustained in the season opener. Mims’ role, whether on special teams or in the backfield, will likely be adjusted depending on the game’s needs.

Despite starting the season 0-1, the Titans are showing a commitment to improving their roster, making strategic adjustments that could spark a positive turnaround. Fans can take comfort in the team’s proactive approach to strengthening their squad and the belief that a few key changes could lead to success in the coming weeks.
