Alex Sauve Named PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week
Shippensburg University linebacker Alex Sauve has been honored as the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Defensive Athlete of the Week, as announced Monday by the league office.
Sauve, a sophomore, recorded eight tackles, including one tackle for loss, half a sack, and an interception during SU’s 10-7 victory over Bloomsburg on Saturday. His interception was SU’s second of the game, and he later pressured the quarterback on a third pick late in the fourth quarter that helped secure the win.
The Raider defense held Bloomsburg to just one passing play over 15 yards and one rushing play over 10 yards throughout the game.
This marks the first career weekly PSAC honor for Sauve and the first such award for a Shippensburg player this season. He is the first Raider to earn Defensive Athlete of the Week since Mike Brewer did so on November 13, 2023.
