Michigan Football Recruits Share Impressions After Weekend Visits Following Wolverines’ Win
Following a strong victory over Wisconsin at the Big House, the Michigan football program welcomed a large group of recruits to Ann Arbor. The group included both current commits and prospective targets from various recruiting classes, many of whom shared their thoughts after experiencing the game-day atmosphere and spending time with the coaching staff.
Braylon Hodge (2026 4-star LB, Michigan State commit)
Hailing from Cherry Creek (CO), Hodge—who recently picked up an offer from Michigan linebackers coach Brian Jean-Mary—made a quick decision to visit Ann Arbor after that offer.
He spoke highly of the experience:
“The energy was unreal, the fans were loud all game long,” Hodge told Michigan on SI. “You could really feel the tradition in the air—it was an amazing environment.”
Anthony Cartwright (2027 4-star TE)
The in-state prospect from Detroit Country Day has become a frequent visitor in Ann Arbor. Attending the Wisconsin game gave him another opportunity to strengthen bonds with the Michigan staff.
“It was a great visit,” Cartwright said. “I got to spend a lot of time with the coaches and players after an impressive team win.”
Jonathan Brown (2026 3-star RB, Michigan commit)
Brown, who committed to the Wolverines in June, was joined on the visit by fellow 2026 commit and five-star back Savion Hiter.
“The energy was awesome,” said Brown. “The fans were incredible, and I loved connecting with my future teammates. It was a classic Big Ten battle, and I’m glad we came out with the win.”
Markel Dabney (2026 3-star LB, Michigan commit)
Dabney, a former SMU commit who flipped to Michigan in June, also reflected on the visit positively.
“It was a great time,” he said. “Seeing guys like Justice Haynes and Bryce Underwood, and that defense—definitely worth watching. Being around the other recruits is always fun. I enjoy every visit up here.”
Overall, the Wolverines’ big win and the atmosphere in Ann Arbor left a strong impression on the recruits, reinforcing Michigan’s standing as a top destination for elite talent.
