Chargers Acquire Pass-Rusher Odafe Oweh in Trade With Ravens

The Los Angeles Chargers have made a move to bolster their pass rush, acquiring edge rusher Odafe Oweh from the Baltimore Ravens, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.

Per insider Ian Rapoport, the Chargers are sending a 2026 fifth-round pick and safety Alohi Gilman to Baltimore in exchange for Oweh and a future seventh-round pick.

A former first-round pick in 2021, Oweh has yet to notch a sack in five games this season but totaled 10 sacks in 2024 and 23 overall in his career. He’s currently playing out the final year of his rookie contract, worth about $13 million.

The Chargers have been struggling with injuries and inconsistency on the edge. Khalil Mack is on injured reserve, Tuli Tuipulotu has been inconsistent, and Joey Bosa departed for the Buffalo Bills after being released. The pass-rushing unit, currently led by Bud Dupree, has been a weak link in Jesse Minter’s defense.

With ties to Baltimore through GM Joe Hortiz, the Chargers are banking on Oweh’s upside. A strong second half of the season could position him for a significant contract extension — and give the Chargers a much-needed boost on defense.
