Missouri Offers Two Promising 2027 Recruits
The Missouri Tigers are getting an early start on their 2027 recruiting efforts, extending offers to a pair of standout prospects as they continue to build momentum on the trail.
Head coach Eli Drinkwitz and his staff have been on a recruiting tear recently, securing eight commitments for the 2026 class in the past month alone. Now, the focus is beginning to shift to the next wave of talent, with Missouri issuing scholarship offers to two rising players from the 2027 cycle.
The first offer went to 3-star defensive lineman David Folorunso out of St. Patrick High School in Chicago. Folorunso announced the offer on social media, saying he was “blessed to receive my first SEC offer from the University of Missouri.”
At 6-foot-4 and 280 pounds, Folorunso already boasts the size and physicality to compete with top defensive linemen and is only expected to develop further by the time he reaches his senior year. He is currently ranked No. 60 among defensive linemen nationally and No. 19 overall in Illinois, per 247Sports’ composite rankings.
The second offer went to Myles Smith, an edge rusher from Farmington, Michigan. Smith also shared his excitement on social media after receiving the news from Missouri.
Although he’s currently unranked, Smith brings plenty of upside. He stands 6-foot-5, weighs 215 pounds, and displays explosive speed off the edge with strong athletic traits. He’s also a multi-sport athlete, playing center and power forward for his high school basketball team, which further showcases his versatility and agility.
Missouri has yet to secure any commitments in the 2027 class and has just two defensive line or edge pledges in the 2026 group so far. However, by identifying and offering high-upside talent early, especially at positions of need, Drinkwitz and his staff are setting the foundation for future success.
