Texans Could Regain Two Key Defenders for Seahawks Matchup

The Houston Texans may receive a boost on defense ahead of their Week 7 Monday Night Football game against the Seattle Seahawks, as two injured players are trending toward a return.

In their first practice report of the week (dated 10/16), the Texans provided a promising update on several defenders:

Houston Texans Injury Report (10/16):

  • CB Elijah Huzzie: Limited (knee)
  • DE Denico Autry: Full (knee)
  • S Jaylen Reed: Full (knee)

The most notable updates come from Denico Autry and Jaylen Reed, both of whom were full participants. Autry, a veteran defensive end, and Reed, a rookie safety, have recently come off the PUP list and practiced fully for the first time since their returns.

Autry, entering his second season with Houston, played in 10 games (two starts) last season, tallying 13 tackles and 3.0 sacks. Reed, selected in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft from Penn State, is still waiting to make his NFL debut and could be in line for a significant role if activated for Monday’s game.

Meanwhile, cornerback Elijah Huzzie, an undrafted rookie, was a limited participant after missing time with a knee injury. He now has a 21-day window to be activated to the 53-man roster following his return from the non-football injury list.

As the Texans prepare to face the Seahawks, all three defenders could factor into the game plan, with Autry and Reed especially likely to make their season debuts at Lumen Field on Monday night.
